"Israeli Song - "Forever, my brother" (Hebrew Songs beautiful Jewish songs music) 26.10.2012 "LaNetzah Ahi" (Forever, my brother), is a song that was written by Avi-Geffen in 1992, in memory of his best school friend Nir Shpiener, who was killed in a car crash at the age of 18. In 1995, Geffen prophetically sang the song at the peace rally during which Yitzak Rabin was assassinated, and in Israel the song is now sung in Rabin's memory on Rabin memorial day, and for fallen Israeli soldiers and for funerals for the terror victims who were to become so numerous in subsequent years after the collapse of the peace talks. Here it is performed by Ninet, at Rabin Square, Tel Aviv. Translation: "I'm on my way to cry for you; be strong up in the starlight My emptiness is like a door left open after midnight Forever my friend I'll see you in the end And we will forever be the best of brothers The friends I have are fine But in the light you shine I only see the shadow of the others In tearful times we walk the shore and salt the sea with crying And tears will fall because there's nothing else to stop my lonely sighs Forever my brother! I'll see you in the end And we will forever be the best of friends The friends I have are fine But in the light you shine I only see the shadows of the others And like the tide We crash, collide With the rocks With real life And like the tide We crash, collide With the rocks With real life Forever, my friend! I'll see you in the end And we will forever be the best of brothers The friends I have are fine But in the light you shine I only see the shadows of the others I'm on my way to cry for you; be strong up in the starlight ."
